The Knicks and GM Scott Perry are agreeing to a multi-year contract extension, sources inform SNY’s Ian Begley.
Whereas Steve Mills was relieved of his duties, Leon Rose saved Perry as GM when he took over in March 2020.
Perry joined the Knicks again in 2017, when New York needed to really give the Sacramento Kings a 2019 second-round decide and money issues to pry him away.
Perry has been a key part on this Knicks rebuild, particularly relating to the Julius Randle signing two seasons in the past. Randle developed into an All-Star this previous 12 months, and is now a first-rate candidate to obtain a multi-year extension himself as a constructing block for the franchise.
